Dedicated to our old contractor friend, Louie, a big guy who worked hard, ate a lot (without apology) and who always complained about wimpy lunch boxes. Ours is 1200-denier super-duty material, with enough room to hold breakfast, lunch and dinner. Includes an upper food and snack compartment and a bottom sealed cold drink compartment that holds two liter bottles of water or a 6-pack with room left over. Exterior pockets (one with zip closure) hold silverware, a bottle of Tabasco sauce, or salt and pepper shakers. Pack it up and eat like a king.

Comments about Duluth Trading Louie's Lunch Box:

I have had this bag for more than 2 years working on the RailRoad. The reason for the look around is because the strape & inside is cracking, Understand this is used on a every day bases on a train. The box has its workout on & off Engines, this material showed be used for bags for the Rail service. This might safe me from purchasing bags so often.

Ladies has your husband grumped about his lunchbox? Stop looking and buy this one.
My husband is a diesel big rig mechanic (seriously dirty job!) and a big eater, his lunch fits and so do plenty of drinks.

He has not grumped about his lunchbox once, he told me not to get it because he didn't think it would be any good.

Buying another one for our son today.

Comments about Duluth Trading Louie's Lunch Box:

I have gotten this lunch box for the last 6 years. I have had about 3 of 4 and this last one is smaller then the last one that i bought. I work at a Coal mine in Wy and we are gone from home for about 15 hours. The old size one was perfect. I could hold my breakfast, lunch and snacks. Plus a large bottle of water and a couple of sodas. My complaint is the size. Maybe you should bring back the old size and make on that is a bit smaller because when your gone for a long period of time it holds everything that you need.

Great lunch box, bought it for my boyfriend who is in construction. His brother suggested we buy it as he has one too (although my boyfriends brother has the bigger one, which I thought I was purchasing). My boyfriend loves it and might want to get the bigger one which means the smaller one will be mine.

Comments about Duluth Trading Louie's Lunch Box:

I was looking for a food carrier that could carry a couple meals at once, have room for utensils and condiments, and was easy to carry and access.

This Louie's Lunch Box fits the bill, and feels like it will last forever as well. My last insulated lunch carrier had ordinary zippers which failed after about a year of use; this one has massive zippers that appear to be designed to withstand a direct hit from an RPG. All other aspects are built to last and survive some rough handling.

It may be a bit large for some, but for me it is perfect as I have room to pack a couple meals in there if I know I will be working a long one, and it does a good job keeping the food cold if I slip in a cold pack or two.

Comments about Duluth Trading Louie's Lunch Box:

I use this product mostly @ work/indoors & travel. It is strong & simple, however it does not have the space I thought it would have in the bottom nor top compartments. Also, the zippers get stuck on the inner material on the lower main portion around the corners. The pockets are few & small/tight. Altogether, I would recommend this item to a friend, it's a workhorse.

Comments about Duluth Trading Louie's Lunch Box:

I use it to carry my dinner and between-meal snacks to work (work as a security guard), as well as a couple of bottles of water--even water in two different-sized stainless steel bottles. I love how tough and sturdy it is. I even have room to stash my cell phone in one of the side pockets while riding the Metro.

It's so sturdy that I had my Dad borrow mine on Turkey Day to take some Turkey and some of the sides when he had to go to work at his security job instead of lugging them around in one of the coolers we had around the house. Cleans up very easily!!!

I was really expecting alot better lunch bag. I have a buddy that purchaced one of these lunch bags and I just had to have one, because my old bag was all wore out. and when my bag came in the mail I had noticed that it looked smaller than my buddies. And when I saw his at work and compared them side by side. My bag was half the size of his bag, and in my bag I could barely put my sunglass case and a 4X4 sq. container in the bottom half of the bag. and cant even fit a news paper in the top part of the bag.

Big Louis lunch box looks great from a distance but up close...... its a great looking piece of equipment. It doesnt work that well for me though. It doesnt fit as much inside as I thought it would. The top portion opens easily, but the main portion zippers can be a little tough to get open.My problem is that sometimes(most times)I eat while driving from one job to another and my last lunchbox(which Ive had for 20+ years) was really easy to open.It does keep things good and cold though and so far seems to be well made

Comments about Duluth Trading Louie's Lunch Box:

I work out on the road a lot; most days I am on the road during lunch time. I use this cooler about 3-6 times a week. The two best things this cooler has to offer is capacity and durablility. I sometime carry as much as two liters of water plus my decent size lunch in it. One note of caution; I found the ice packs included to leak easily. I would buy some different ones and throw the freebies away.

Comments about Duluth Trading Louie's Lunch Box:

This is the second "Louies lunch box" that I've had. I had to retire the first one after over 9 years as one fo the zippers just wore out. I use this bag every day during the week and even weekends when I travel. The good news is that he newer version has heavier zippers. Also, there are stiffeners in the lower half that the first one didn't have. Other improvments include a better shoulder strap and more padding in the handles.

You can't go wrong with one of these. Plenty of room and stays cold all day, even when the shop is 100 plus degrees.

Comments about Duluth Trading Louie's Lunch Box:

I use this for my work lunch box. It has planty of capacity for a large lunch plus all the extras that I carry (cell phone, GPS, sunscreen, MP3 player, etc.) Keeps stuff relatively cool until lunch even without the included ice packs. Using the ice packs, I would say that my food is still close to refrigerator temperature after 5-6 hours.
The only downside I have seen so far is that if you have any kind of weight in the top section, it will "cave in" to the bottom section a little bit. Basically rolls over the zippered seem between the top and bottom section which makes it a little bit tough to use the zipper. Not a huge deal honestly, just a little bit annoying. It doesn't affect the use or functionality in any way.
Overall, an excellent heavy duty, large lunch box.

Comments about Duluth Trading Louie's Lunch Box:

I use Louie every day at work. Frequently, it sits in a warm environment for hours before I get to eat and the drinks are still cold. The horizontal zippers are sometimes hard to move around the corners but other than that there is absolutely nothing negative to say about it. I'd recommend it to anyone.

I use this product Monday through Friday as a lunch box. It's tough enough I don't worry about it and large enough I can pack enough for a very long day on the job. I like that it has enough room that I can through in little extras from hot sauce to crackers. That extra room also comes in handy for carrying things I don't want to forget from job site to job site as I know I'll open my lunch box and see it!

Comments about Duluth Trading Louie's Lunch Box:

I have carried this lunch box to work every day, six days a week, for the last 4 F-O-U-R years! When we go on driving trips, it is with me, carrying sodas and keeping my insulin safe. I believe I will have this with me when I retire in 15 years, it is that good. It shows almost no wear after four years of service in and out of the factory. It still looks good enough to take on vacation without my wife complaining. Igloo BEWARE!!

Comments about Duluth Trading Louie's Lunch Box:

I've been torn between purchasing Louie's Lunch Box since it was first introduced but just couldn't justify retiring my 1980 Igloo Lunch Mate. If it ain't broke, don't fix it, right? My wife bought me this lunch box as a gift and the second I laid hands on it my only regret was that I didn't purchase it when it first came out. I'm not a fan of most soft lunch boxes because of their cheap zippers and equally cheap build quality. This lunch box is just a notch below "bombproof." It has more room than my old Lunch Mate and is the perfect size for an "average" eater. If you're a big eater or you need more room for drinks, consider going with Karl's Lunch Box. Hands down one of the best gifts I've ever received. Definitely worth the money!
