Comments about Duluth Trading Utili-Key:

Comes in handy when you need a knife or screwdriver in a pinch. However, tends to spread apart and unhook from your keychain. I've lost mine twice. Now I use a small o-ring to keep it together and attached to the ring. Can be hard to use the screwdriver and avoid cutting yourself with the very sharp knife blade. So far, no blood shed here. Can also be a little large for a pocket keychain. But...when you need it, you need it.

Comments about Duluth Trading Utili-Key:

A little difficult to open at first, until I found the best way for me (hold so serrated teeth show, grip blade with left thumb and forefinger, apply pressure with other hand at tip of philips screwdriver tip. And hang on to your keys while you open it or they fall and you feel silly. Which never happened to me.) And I think opening and closing it a few times took some of the stiffness out of it.

It's not the most comfortable thing to hold and it's a little inconvenient to pull out my keys, take off the knife, use it, and then put it back on the key chain. But it works and it's always there and it does feel sturdier than I thought it would.

The Utilikey is rather difficult to open and the knife feels unsafe due to the lack of a secure grip when using. Great for opening boxes and envelopes but not really a multi-tool. My grandfather had a very hard time opening it.

I loved having this thing on my keychain... that is, until it snapped off. If you're planning on rattling around your keys, this might not be for you... might want to consider a traditional (more durable) multitool like a leatherman.

Comments about Duluth Trading Utili-Key:

I really like the size and convenience. It's no more than another key on my key ring. It is necessary to be careful, as the cutting edge of the knife is easy to grasp when you're using it. Not for the forgetful or injury prone user.

Comments about Duluth Trading Utili-Key:

The screwdrivers and the blade are great. It's attachment point for your key ring is very well done. It cannot fall off.

It is no substitute for full fledged tools but when there's none available this tool can save the day. I noted that the "grip" was poor. This is due simply to the size and lack of a true handle. But these things are also the product's strength as it is very small and unobtrusive.

The only problem you may have is remembering it's there. The one I just bought here was to replace one I bought many years ago and finally lost.

Comments about Duluth Trading Utili-Key:

I like to carry a small knife with me, but can't take it on flights. I thought this might be a good substitute. It is better than nothing, but not what I had hoped. It is very hard to open and many of the tools are awkward to use. I had trouble opening a cardboard box with the knife.

Carrying a small blade when I travel was not possible until I found this "Key". TSA doesn't seem to mind letting this little "Key" through security. And even when they do find it, at under [$]it's not a hardship if they ever take it away! A great travel tool. Thanks

Comments about Duluth Trading Utili-Key:

I'm always looking for (small and) multi-functional tools and objects, and this is one of them. I carry mine on my key chain. (Beware: it falls off the key chain when you open it...but that's part of its charm.)

For some strange reason, as a life-long Alaskan, it is necessary that I have some sort of cutting implement handy at all times. This one fits the bill. (Don't tell anyone, but I've even forgotten about it going through airport security - oops.)

Thank you, Duluth Trading Co., for carrying this product.

Comments about Duluth Trading Utili-Key:

Pretty handy. It will fit both standard and phillips eyeglass screws, which can make you quite popular. I'd get rid of the "saw" blade, however, and just extend the knife blade. I do worry I'll forget I have it at the airport and have it confiscated (if they can even spot it in the midst of my keys!)

Comments about Duluth Trading Utili-Key:

I've had a Utili-key for several years and while it is not by any stretch a replacement for actual tools, it is a small, handy occasional lifesaver. I purchased one for my father because he (for some strange reason) has no end of trouble with his eye glasses falling apart on him. This sucker is perfect for that sort of job. Beyond that, I've probably used the bottle opener the most and the knife a close second. Again, it's no substitute for actual tools, but sometimes it's all you have and it can be extremely handy.
