The Locking Stor-A-Key saves you from calling the locksmith. The second it happens, you know you've done it: locked the keys in the car. Doh! It usually happens the same day you forget your cell phone on the kitchen counter or leave your credit card at the supermarket. Stick a spare key in this unbreakable case and attach it to your wheel well (a super-strong magnet will keep it there), and you'll never need a locksmith. Good for hiding a spare key around the house, too. Attaches to almost any surface via magnet or the included adhesive.

Comments about Locking Stor-A-Key:

This is a handy product to safeguard against being locked out of the house. Hide it somewhere near the house and set the combo, and you've got a good layer of protection. The device is easy to use and small enough to place somewhere without being noticeable.

Why didn't someone think of this before? Always have used a "hide a key", but always worried about the ease of getting to the key if it was discovered. This at least gives some security. Super strong magnet, so no worries about it falling off. Now have them on all of our vehicles

I bought four (4) Locking Stor-A-Keys based soley on the quality of everything I have purchased from Duluth Trading Co. I gave one to each of my daughters and one to my mother-in-law, I am a bit tired of late evening trips to open doors that have the key on the wrong side. My youngest daughter used her Locking Stor-A-Key within two days and I did not have to make a late evening trip; yeah!!!

In addition to a spare key, this little baby will hold a couple of ten or twenty dollar bills for the emergency gas money or hamburger break you know you will some day face. Not just for cars, hide it in the garage, under a rock, or your favorite hiding place. These things are great.

Large Cars, Small Cars, Trucks

Bottom Line:

Comments about Locking Stor-A-Key:

This hide a key is great, the magnet is plenty strong. Just make sure you clean the metal where you're going to stick it. The combination is cool too except for a little glitch which can happen when you are setting the combination (because of the combination mechanism, if you're not careful, you can set an incorrect combination;l but if you do it smoothly, the unit works great. the good is that it's small but frustrating enough to deter the casual thief but can be a lifesaver for those of us prone to locking keys inside a car. I bought this one for an aging relative who had a history of car lockouts--now the only trick is, will he remember the combination? =)

I purchased you Locking Sto-A-Key thinking that it would give me a place to hide my Honda Ridgeline key somewhere on the outside. The idea sounded real good. After receiving the Stor-A-Key I found that it is not large enough for the new type keys with large plastic ends. I am keeping it thinking I may find another application

Own a plain jane truck, no power accessories, but I did lock my keys in a few time so I'd just reach through my rear slider and pop the lock. Then I bought a cap and while I can still reach in, if the cap is locked, I am SOL. Though about one of the old lock storage cases, then I saw this. Put it on last weekend and now I am worry free. Awesome little gadget, gonna get em for the nephew for xmas.

Comments about Locking Stor-A-Key:

I like the locking mechanism much better than the old style magnetic key holder. My house key is mounted inside my mailbox out of site. I would prefer a metal unit rather than plastic which I feel could be broken into. I have not tried one on my car yet, as I need to find a place where I know it will not become jarred loose from bumps and pot holes.

Best Uses:
Home, Trucks
Car & Truck:

Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Comments about Locking Stor-A-Key:

I bought two of the Locking Stor-A-Keys, one for home use, the other for my truck. The first one I set did have the factory-set combination of "000". The second one I tried to set DID NOT have this same factory-set combination, thus I could not open it or reset it to the combination I wanted! I spent a good while cycling through combinations until I found the one the factory set, which was "123". Whew!! I'm glad I found it! Also, the magnet on it does not seem to be secure enough to the storage compartment to suit my taste. I'm afraid it will fall off while driving.

Comments about Locking Stor-A-Key:

Great product, but it's too small to handle my spare car key. Modern keys have wireless transmitters built into their big plastic grips, but they don't fit into this thing. Too bad. Now I've gotta' waste my time trying to find a replacement key without the transmitter.

Comments about Locking Stor-A-Key:

Having locked myself out of my car two times in a two week period I thought that this product was my answer. When I received the stor-a-key I was very disappointed to discover that my key-a typical key for a Toyota Corolla- was too big for the storage area and I could not close and lock the unit.

Comments about Locking Stor-A-Key:

We were forever locking ourselves out of the house. Two very active boys, 3 and under, have caused us to get very absent minded about keys in our rush out the door. We needed a solution that didn't require going to the "secret hiding place" or worse, going to the "secret hiding place" and finding that we didn't return the key from the last time we locked ourselves out!
Combination door knobs are so exepnsive. This Stor-a-Key is perfect. It sticks to the door like glue. You honestly can put the key right back in it and stick it back to the door before you even open the door. The babysitter can come and go w/out giving her a key and worrying that she has lost it or forgot it. It can hold more than one key so that helps too. The second unit we have works great on our 2000 Buick that doesn't have keyless entry.
One less thing to think about makes it worth its weight in gold.

Comments about Locking Stor-A-Key:

This little device has assisted us since I bought it. My little boy who is 8 years old was helping my wife load up her vehicle with groceries. Little to my wife's knowledge he put the keys in the trunk to put the rest of the groceries in there as well. Well you know where I am going with this, if you do not watch what happens. My wife closes the trunk an yup you got it, the keys where in the trunk. I would like to take full credit for my billriance but I cannot. The locking stor-a-key saved the day. My wife retrieved this little device and opened it got the spare key and opened the car where she popped the trunk lever and whala, the keys are back in her hand.
Moral of the story, when eight year olds are helpful hold the keys and you'll be able to get in the car.

Perfect way to hide a key. Even comes with a sticky metal plate to mount out of view. The box has magnet that sticks to the plate. Set combination to open little box to get house key. I would not use this on the outside of a vehicle and don't know how well it will hold up over time. Mine is away from weather but is great to have available to let someone have access I.C.E.!
